When a California farm company needed reliable level measurement of their irrigation canals, they turned to Flowline. Water supply and distribution is critical to their farm business, and they manage it through automation. Pumped from the California Aqueduct, water traverses through main canals that feed individual crop fields. The canal levels are measured as the water passes through weirs, and flow data is transmitted via a LoRa wireless network to a central monitoring station. Farmers complained that previous ultrasonic level sensors became intermittent when morning fog, rising off the water, condensed droplets on the transducers.
