Drinking Water Holding Tank Radar Level Measurement

Drinking Water Holding Tank Level Sensor

Drinking Water Holding Tank Level Transmitter

When a Puerto Rican municipality needed reliable level measurement of their drinking water holding tank, they turned to Flowline. The below grade wet well is a large reservoir that holds drinking water during the final chlorination stage of treatment. A triplex pump system transfers the water from the well to the distribution system. The IC&E engineer needed a reliable non-contact level sensor that’s unaffected by condensation, turbulence or a fast rate of level change during fill or empty. He also required an IP68 rating as the area is frequently besieged with storms and periodic flooding. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our 80-GHz radar sensors that provide robust measurement in a temporarily submersible design that’s perfect for water, wastewater and chemical applications. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the PLC that monitors the well and controls the pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
