When the Flood Division of Orange County, California Public Works needed reliable level measurement of Prado Dam reservoir, they turned to Flowline. The reservoir is a flood control basin that protects downstream communities, recharges groundwater and provides recreational habitat for boating, fishing and hunting. The basin operators monitor tributary levels and use that data to project reservoir trends. Given the enormous acreage, a 1/4-inch rise in level can translate into hundreds of thousands of gallons difference in reservoir in-flow, and thus level accuracy is critical. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our coaxial guided wave level sensors that are highly accurate and unaffected by turbulence or plant debris. The guided wave sensor provides continuous level data to the SCADA system, which in turn, monitors tributary in-flows and provides alarms. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
