When a Gulf Coast municipality needed reliable level measurement of a challenging sewer pump lift station, they turned to Flowline. The rectangular multi-chamber vault has very limited measurement space, fills quickly, and becomes quite agitated as the level approaches low level pump shut off. The operators used pressure level sensors here, but found their service life was greatly reduced due to turbulence related mechanical damage. Couple this with the periodic need to unclog the sensing element from grease build-up, and they wanted a lasting, maintenance free solution. For this reason, Flowline suggested our non-contact radar sensors that have narrow beams, easily track fast fills, and are unaffected by agitation or foam. The radar sensor provides continuous level data to the SCADA, which in turn, monitors the station and controls the pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
