When a California cell tower company needed reliable level measurement of their fire emergency water tanks, they turned to Flowline. Many towers principally serve the driving public and are often located in remote areas near highways. As towers are upgraded to 5G, the networks are faster, but the new equipment generates more heat and requires additional cooling and fire suppression. Without water service, the suppression system is fed by a water tank that’s monitored by SCADA, and periodically topped off by tanker truck delivery. Where towers are located in desert or mountain communities, operators complained that previous ultrasonic level sensors became intermittent during extreme temperatures. For this reason, Flowline suggested our ultrasonic sensors that measure reliably from -40º to 80º C., including through the tank condensation cycles. The ultrasonic sensors provide reliable level data to the SCADA system, which monitors the tanks and alarms for water replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
