When a Northwest manufacturer of plastic medical apparatus needed reliable level measurement of their process water recovery tanks, they turned to Flowline. The firm produces balloon catheters for various surgical applications. The parts are either molded or extruded, and their machine’s process temperature is regulated with cooling water. Once spent, the hot water is recovered in storage tanks, prior to treatment and reuse. Inside the tanks, the temperature averages 70º C., and would be best described as a rain forest. The operator said that previous ultrasonic level sensors became unstable when condensation drops built on the transducer. For this reason, Flowline suggested our proprietary reflective ultrasonic sensors that are unaffected by condensation. See how. The ultrasonic sensors provide reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the recovery tanks and controls the treatment process. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
