When a New Jersey food ingredient manufacturer needed reliable level measurement of their pump lift station, they turned to Flowline. Several waste streams flow into a large sump that collects and transfers residual ingredients, CIP chemicals and steaming hot wastewater into treatment. There plant operators experienced pressure level sensor failures due to coating or corrosion, and previous ultrasonic sensors measured intermittently whenever steam or foam entered the sump. For these reasons, Flowline suggested the use of non-contact radar sensors that are unaffected by hot, steaming and/or foaming wastewater. The radar sensor provides continuous level data to the PLC, which controls the transfer process. The sensor display module provides convenient level indication. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
