When a Southeast textile manufacturer needed reliable level measurement of their clarifier pump lift stations, they turned to Flowline. Textile plants discharge vast amounts of colored wastewater, filled with organic dyes, surfactants and detergent, that’s generally treated via filtration and biological absorption methods. During treatment, the sticky and foaming effluent is pumped between a network of settling ponds and clarifiers prior to reclamation. Here the operators experienced level problems with ultrasonic sensors due to foam, and pressure sensors due to coating. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our non-contact radar level sensor that’s unaffected by foam or turbulence, and specifically designed for pump lift stations. The radar sensors provide continuous level data to the PLC, which in turn, monitors the stations and controls the pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
